Common questions
How do I back up my collection?
Open Settings → Backup and tap Back up my collection to save a file to your phone, a USB drive or a cloud drive, or Send a backup to… to send it to OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or email. The home screen reminds you when it's been a while.
How do I move my collection to a new phone?
- On the old phone, make a backup (see above) somewhere the new phone can reach, such as a cloud drive or email.
- Install Cut Loose Media on the new phone.
- Open Settings → Backup → Restore from a backup, choose the file, and pick Replace everything.
Backups work between iPhone and Android.
How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Sign in to the same Apple ID or Google account you bought with, then open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Cut Loose Media → Cancel Subscription.
Android: Google Play Store → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cut Loose Media → Cancel.
A barcode found the wrong item, or nothing at all.
On the result screen, tap Not this item? Search by title, or Fix the details first to correct it. Older VHS tapes and records often aren't in online catalogs. Search by title with Type barcode or search title, or tap Scan and use the No barcode? Photo of the cover or label button.
How do I find an old record with no barcode?
Tap Scan → No barcode? Photo of the cover or label and photograph the label in the center of the record or the front of the album jacket. The center label usually works best, because it often shows the catalog number. If the catalog number is found, tap Search catalog number to find the exact pressing. You can also search by album and artist together, like "Let It Be Beatles."
Can I open my collection in Excel?
Yes. Settings → Backup → Export to Excel (.xlsx) creates a formatted spreadsheet. Export as .csv makes a plain list for other apps.
Is my collection private?
Yes. It stays on your phone and we never receive it. See our privacy policy.
